Summer Robotics Workshop · August 2026
Spend the Summer Building Robots
Two one-week sessions taught by LexVEX builders and programmers who compete at the international level. Your student walk in curious and leave driving a robot they built themselves.

Build a Robot From Scratch This Summer
Students will immerse themselves in hands-on experience designing, building, and programming VEX robots. Guided by seasoned engineers and programmers, participants will learn invaluable skills in collaborative and dynamic environments, including in areas of mechanical engineering, programming, and documentation. Each day will feature activities designed to ignite creativity and foster innovation.
The instructor team is made up of veteran LexVEX builders and programmers who compete at the international level. At the end of the workshop, you'll leave with the skills to build a working robot for the 2026–27 VEX season.

Two Sessions
Both weeks cover the same core skills, but each is pitched at a different pace and grade range. Pick the one that fits where you are.
August 3–7
Mon–Fri · Week one
Students will learn robotics fundamentals, including designing, coding, and building robots, while also gaining insights into engineering processes and developing essential teamwork skills. Students will gain hands-on experience with VEX components and learn basic mechanical design, programming, and control theories. At the end of the summer camp, students will be able to design, build, program, and drive basic VEX robots to fulfill defined tasks.
By Friday, you can design, build, program, and drive a basic VEX robot to complete defined tasks.
August 10–14
Mon–Fri · Week two
Students will be introduced to robotics fundamentals through a fast-paced, hands-on experience covering mechanical design, programming, and control theory. This track is designed for students who are ready to hit the ground running, challenging students to move beyond guided instruction and into open-ended ideas. At the end of the summer camp, students will be able to design, build, program, and drive advanced VEX robots to overcome unseen challenges and build a competition-level robot.
By Friday, you can build and program a competition-level VEX robot to compete against other robots.
High school students who gain experience through the camp are strongly encouraged to join a LexVEX team for the 2026-2027 season.
